Have you survived polio?
Do you know someone who has?
Have you survived polio?
Do you know someone who has?
After years of stability, many of us are finding ourselves faced suddenly and unexpectedly with new medical problems, now being referred to as "the late effects of polio".
Symptoms include but are not limited to: extreme fatigue, new weakness in both affected and unaffected muscles and joints, sensitivity to cold and, in some cases, respiratory problems.
We are learning new things constantly but at this time have no absolute answers as to the causes of post-polio syndrome.
The Michigan Polio Network, Inc., working with health care professionals, is finding some answers for polio survivors in our quest for coping with a myriad of problems. Our primary purpose is to assist polio survivors in a way which will maintain or improve their quality of life.

Attention Polio Survivors we need your HELP!
As we continue to age and find it more difficult to travel to get post-polio information first hand, we depend on what we find in written material and what we find on the web. Here is where you can contribute. Let us know which polio/post-polio topics would you like to see in the Perspectives, on the web site or at future conferences.
